Jack Amidei Named RMAC Pitcher of the Week

Junior Jack Amidei (RHP, 6'0, Denver, CO) was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week picking up his second win of the season in a 7-1 victory over #4 Chico State.

Amidei pitched game three of a three game series going 4.2 innings, allowing just one run (unearned) on two hits. Amidei leads the team with two victories (2-0), innings pitched (13.0) and is second on the team with 12 strikeouts.

Amidei picked up win number one against Grand Canyon University in the Mavs opening series of the 2008 season. He went 6.0 innings and struck out seven batters clinching the Mavericks first victory of the year.

MSC will host the University of New Haven this weekend in a four game series beginning Friday afternoon at Suplizio Field (2 pm). A doubleheader is scheduled for Noon on Saturday and Sunday at Noon, a single game.
