Mavs Register Second Consecutive RMAC Sweep, Defeat Colorado Christian
(Game One: 10-4, Game Two: 6-2, Game Three: 6-1, Game Four: 14-1)

Maverick baseball team pushed their win streak to 13 following a four game sweep over Colorado Christian this weekend at Suplizio Field. MSC is 17-6 overall and 8-0 in RMAC action.

MSC opened the series Friday afternoon with a 10-4 victory behind homeruns by Curtis Englehart, Kyle Hogue and last week's RMAC Player of the Week, Matt Miller's two homeruns. The three combined for seven RBI and four runs. MSC had 12 hits in the game including multiple hits by Englehart, Miller and Justin Little.

MSC's Jack Amidei remained undefeated posting his fifth victory. Amidei allowed three runs on four hits and struck out eight Cougars. Freddie Hampe came on in relief for three innings allowing one run on one hit.

The Mavericks swept Saturday's doubleheader by the scores of 6-2 and 6-1. In game one MSC took the lead in a four-run fourth inning and erased a 2-1 Cougar lead. Curtis Englehart's homerun pushed the Mav lead to 5-2. Englehart, Mike Provencher and Marty Rover had two hits each. Starting pitcher Aaron Guinn improved to 2-0 following five innings of work. Guinn allowed two runs on six hits, walking one and striking out three. Jason Enewold and Brent Lamaster each pitched one inning.

In game three of the series starting pitcher Chris Carma struck out 10 batters in six innings on the mound. He allowed one run on two hits and walked three. Carma improved to 3-1 and leads the team with a 3.38 ERA.

MSC registered six runs on nine hits. Justin Little went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs.

Sunday's final game of the series MSC scored 14 runs on 14 hits as starter T.J. Butch (2-0) pitched five complete scoreless innings, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out eight.

MSC scored a run in every inning but the fifth and held the Cougars scoreless until the eighth. Mike Provencher and Kyle Hogue had three hit each and combined for six RBI and five runs. Provencher hit two homeruns in the game and Hogue hit his seventh homerun of the season in the third.

MSC will travel to Metro State this Friday for a four game series with the Roadrunners.
