MSC's last appearance in the NCAA Division II playoffs was in 2003 (10-2, 8-0) where the Mavs fell at home to Central Oklahoma 20-15. In 2000 (10-3, 8-0) Coach Ramunno led the team to their first ever NCAA Division II post season action and first ever Division II post season victory, defeating Northeastern Oklahoma State (Tahlequah, OK) on the road, 40-21. MSC's victory marked the first RMAC football school to win a Division II playoff game. The Mavericks advanced to the quarterfinals where they lost at UC-Davis, 62-18.

MSC will take on the Wildcats this Saturday, November 17 in Abilene, TX. ACU is coming off a 42-41 come from behind win at Midwestern State. The Wildcats erased a 17-point third quarter deficit to improve to 9-2 overall.
