Mesa State College head football coach Joe Ramunno announced the signing of 17 student-athletes to attend and play football for the Mavericks in the fall of 2008.

"Our coaching staff did another great job of identifying talent to fit what we want to represent Mesa State College and the Grand Junction community. We will always recruit the state of Colorado heavy and are happy with our local talent. With the help of our administration we are extremely excited about the student-athletes from out of state", said Ramunno.

"I am so impressed with the quality of student-athlete we are able to bring to Mesa State College. We recruit based on making sure that Mesa State College is a fit academically. With the success last season and the excitement surrounding the expansion of Mesa State College's campus has made a very positive impact on all recruits", added Ramunno.

Mesa State College will return 48 lettermen in 2008, with 13 players on each side of the ball that started at least one game last season for the Mavericks.
