Joey Coleman Named RMAC Player of the Week

Mesa State sophomore Joey Coleman was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The Grand Junction native helped the Mavericks to two home victories, including a 6-2 RMAC win over Montana State Billings. MSC defeated the Yellowjackets behind the strong play of Coleman's straight set singles victory. He defeated Luis Olivera 6-2, 6-1. He teamed with doubles partner Kevin Nydam to post an 8-4 win at number two doubles.

Saturday afternoon Coleman and the Mavericks blanked Colorado College 9-0. Coleman beat CC's number one singles player 6-4, 6-1 and Nydam and Coleman won 8-1 in doubles.

Next up MSC will travel to Kansas for seven dual matches including regionally ranked Truman State, Washburn, NW Missouri State and Emporia State.
