Mavericks Coaching Staff 2007

Coach Leadbetter enters his 11th year as the head coach of the Mesa State College women´s cross country team. He coached the women's track and field team for two years (2006-2007), as the track and field team was added in 2006.

In one of the most competitive conferences in the nation, Leadbetter has coached his team to school and individual team goals. He is "excited and anxious to help these runners on the road to their maximum potential. There is a lot of hard work ahead , but I feel improvement is definite."

He has worked with endurance training for seven years, including a brief stint with the U.S. biathlon team (ski-shoot). Leadbetter has run 10k's competitively and will train using modern technology testing, and setting exercise prescription according to each individual runner.

Coach Leadbetter enters his 14th year as a professor in the Department of Kinesiology He teaches exercise science classes and labs.

Gig and his wife, Ann, a part time professor at MSC, have two daughters, Kate, 19 and Molly 17.
