Win Quality Inn Maverick Invitational

Mesa
State women's golf team won their fall host tournament, Quality
Inn Maverick Invitational, with a two day total 657, 22 strokes
better than second place Fort Hays State's 679. MSC hosted the two
day affair at the Tiara Rado Golf Course.
The
Mavericks had four players finish in the top 10 including Maggie
Cole's (Aztec, N.M.) second place finish. Cole shot a
second day round of 76 (81-76) and finished just 2 strokes back
of individual winner, Allyson Malzahn from Chadron State (80-75-155).
The
event marked the first team championship title this fall for the
Mavericks. In the three fall tournaments the Mavs have 2 second
place finishes and 1 third place finish. MSC will wrap up their
fall season at the University of Hawaii-Hilo Intercollegiate October
29-30 in Mauna Lani, Hawaii.
MSC's
Sadie Peavler (Star Valley, WY) finished fifth overall with
a two day total 164 (80-84), Amanda Rollins (Vernal, Utah)
placed sixth (81-86-167) and Amanda Preston (Eagle, CO) tied
for eighth place (84-85-169). Dana Anderson (Loveland, CO)
tied for 16th place (89-91-180).
Chadron
State College Eagles finished third in the team competition with
693. Adams State was fourth at 714, Regis University shot a team
total 730 and Colorado Christian was sixth with 747.
