Women's Golf Team Wins Team Title at Thunderwolf Invitational
(Mavs Maggie Cole Wins Individual Honors)

Mesa State women's golf team won its second consecutive team title winning the Thunderwolf Invitational at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo. MSC won last week at the Regis University Invitational in Lakewood.

Senior Maggie Cole led the way for the Mavs taking home top individual honors with a two day total round of 160. Cole led from start to finish and posted a low round of 79 on day one of the tournament. Fort Hays' Shelby White took second place, two strokes back, with a 162.

MSC posted a two day team total 669 to finish first. The Mavericks led by 14 strokes after day one and extended their lead to 22 strokes over second place Fort Hays State (691). Neb.-Kearney finished third at 701.

Seniors Amanda Preston (169) and Amanda Rollins (171) placed seventh and eighth respectively. Junior Sadie Peavler carded a 174, placing her tenth overall. Sophomore Dana Anderson shot a 175, tying her for 11th place.

Next up for the Mavericks is their own Maverick Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa.
