Mavericks Win Regis Invitational
(Three Players Finish in Top Four)
(April 1, 2008)

Mesa State women's golf team won the Regis Invitational played at the Fox Hollow Golf Course Monday and Tuesday defeating Chadron State College and host Regis University.

The Mavericks won the team title by 21 strokes posting a two day total 655 (327, 328). Chadron State College was second with a 676 (342, 334) and Regis University finished the two day tournament posting a 719 (367, 352).

Senior Maggie Cole finished second overall with a score of 160. Colorado Christian's Tedi Thorne took home top individual honors posting a 153. Cole and Thorne were tied for first after day one with a round of 77 each. Seniors Amanda Rollins placed third overall with a 162 and Amanda Preston tied for fourth with a score of 164. Junior Sadie Peavler tied for ninth place, carding a 169. Sophomore Dana Anderson's two day 189 placed her 14th overall.

MSC will travel to Pueblo for the CSU-Pueblo Invitational to played at Walking Stick Golf Club Monday and Tuesday.
