Sweep RMAC Player of the Week Honors
Christina Pauley / Madeline Gray Named Offense / Defense Player
of the Week

The
undefeated Mesa State women's soccer team was rewarded for its outstanding
play this past weekend sweeping the RMAC weekly honors. Senior forward
Christina Pauley and freshman goalkeeper Madeline Gray
were named RMAC Offense and Defense Player of the Week respectively.
Pauley
(Santa Ynez, CA) scored the game winning goal in overtime against
the University of South Dakota to help the Mavericks remain undefeated
at 4-0-1. She scored what proved to be the game-winning goal against
Minnestoa-Duluth on Friday, which came on a header in the first
2:18 of the game. Against Adams State on Aug. 29, she scored two
goals, including the game-winning goal in the first half.
In three games, she scored four goals and the game-winning goal
in each game. She leads the Mavs in points (11), shots (14), shots
on goal (11), and is tied for the team lead in goals (four) with
Lauren Sell.
Madeline
Gray (Redmond, WA) helped the Mavericks defeat Adams State,
6-1 in Alamosa on Wednesday (8/29). MSC returned home to host Minn.
- Duluth and South Dakota over the weekend and Gray started
both games earning two victories, including a combined shutout over
MN. - Duluth, 4-0. In the net for the entire game against South
Dakota (94 minutes), she allowed one goal and recorded 5 saves.
She
leads the keepers in minutes played (256:21), goals against average
(0.35), games played (5) and saves (14).
MSC
will travel to the front range this weekend to play Regis University
and Metro State.
