Mavericks
Split Series at Neb.-Kearney
(Game One: 2-1, Game Two: 1-2, Game Three: 2-7, Game Four: 10-0)
The
Mavericks and Lopers split Saturday's doubleheader with identical
scores, MSC won game one 2-1 and dropped game two 2-1.
MSC
scored one run in the third on a homerun by Leslie Reed and
a homerun in the sixth by Alissa Zoelle proved to be the
winning run. UNK scored their run in the seventh on a solo homerun.
Starter
Jessica Rayman improved to 4-1 on the season allowing one
run on three hits, no walks and three strikeouts.
In
game two the Lopers took a 1-0 lead after the first inning before
the Mavericks tied the game in the fourth following three hits and
a base on balls RBI for Amanda Marcheigiano. UNK scored the
winning run in the fifth on an RBI single with two on.
Alicia
Neuschwanger dropped to 2-3 on the year with the loss. Neuschwanger
allowed two runs on eight hits, two walks and four strikeouts. MSC
had four hits in the game.
UNK
started Sunday's doubleheader with a 7-2 victory scoring five runs
in the third to take a 5-2 lead. The Lopers scored two more runs
in the fifth for the victory. MSC committed three errors leading
to just two earned runs in the game. Starter Jessica Rayman
dropped to 4-2 on the year allowing seven runs (two earned) on nine
hits and two strikeouts.
MSC
forced the series split with a 10-run rule victory (10-0) in game
four. MSC scored at least on run in four of the five innings and
registered their first 10-run rule victory this year. Nicole
Zuniga went 3-for-3 from the plate with five RBI and two runs.
Alicia
Neuschwanger pitched the complete game shutout allowing four
hits, one walk and struck out six Lopers.
MSC
will host Chadron State College this weekend at Bergman Field.
