Impressive in First Meet of 2008
(Andrea Ager, Relay Team Place First at Joe Davies Invitational)

The
Mesa State Indoor Track and Field team posted outstanding performances
in their first meet of 2008 and second competition of the indoor
season,
at the Joe Davies Invitational at Colorado School of Mines.
Sophomore
Andrea Ager (Arvada, CO) won the 600 meters with a time of
1:44.40 and teammate Deb Benson (So., Orem, UT) finished
third (1:47.54).
MSC's
4 x 400 meter relay team crossed the line in first place in a time
of 4:15.96. The first place team of sprinters were Ashlee Hafey,
Andrea Ager, Stephanie Dumas and Danielle Rose.
UC-Colorado Springs placed second (4:18.81) just a head of the Mavs
Team B time of 4:18.96.
Sprinter
Danielle Rose (Fr., Grand Junction) placed fourth in the
400 meters (1:03.53) and sixth in the 60 meter dash (8.00).
Junior
Ashlee Hafey (Craig, CO) was third in the 800 meter run (2:26.14)
and senior Stephanie Dumas (Phoenix, AZ) placed fourth in
the 200 meter dash (27.40).
Distance
runners Samantha Towne (Fr., Denver, CO) finished fifth in
the 1 mile run (5:41.11) and Esmeralda Martinez-Ramos (So.,
Denver, CO) was 11th in the 3000 meter run (11:37.22).
Junior
Natalie Corbet (Boise, ID) was sixth in the 400 meter dash
(1:04.41) and 12th in the 60 meter hurdles (10.69) preliminaries.
Junior
Tara Underwood (Bennett, CO) finished 10th in the Shot Put
with a throw of 9.51.
