Samantha Towne & Esmeralda Martinez-Ramos Finish 1-2
(Mavericks Place Second at Colorado College Invitational 6k Run)

Samantha Towne and Esmeralda Martinez-Ramos finished first and second respectively at the Colorado College Invitational in Colorado Springs Saturday morning. The Maverick runners finished closely behind three unattached runners, pacing the team to a second place overall finish.

The University of Northern Colorado placed first with a total of 42 points. MSC was second with 59 followed by host Colorado College's third place finish (69 points). RMAC foes Regis University was fourth (89 points) and UC-Colorado Springs, fifth with 91 points. Garden City CC (155 points), Cloud CC (215 points) and Oklahoma Panhandle State (236 points) finished sixth through eighth respectively.

Towne crossed the finish line in a time of 23:34.38 and teammate Martinez-Ramos just seconds behind in a time of 23:42.62. The top unattached runner posted a 21:20.31 time.

Samantha Hentosh placed ninth in a time of 24:42.12. Anna Moseley (24:55.62) and Janelle Haskins (25:46.41) placed 17th and 30th for the Mavericks team points.

Morgan Moore (26:13.34) and Ashlee Hafey (27:06.97) finished in 34th and 40th place respectively.

MSC will travel to Boulder next Saturday for the Rocky Mountain Shoot-out.
