Finish Second at RMAC Championship
Mesa
State golf team shot a final day round of 338, matching their round
one score of 338, to finish second in the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference Golf Championship at the Silver City Golf Course in Silver
City, New Mexico.
Tournament
host Western New Mexico, ranked #20 in Division II golf, won the
team title with a two day total 638. Non-conference entry Western
Washington University was second, three strokes back, carding a
641. MSC was third overall with a 676. Fort Hays State placed fourth
(708), and Neb.-Kearney rounded out the top five. (709). Adams State,
Chadron State, Montana State-Billings, Regis, CSU-Pueblo and Colorado
Christian finished 6-10 respectively.
MSC's
Maggie Cole led the way for the Mavericks with a two day
total, 163, which tied her for eighth place overall. Amanda Rollins
tied for 12th overall carding a 167. Sadie Peavler came in
with a 169 (T16th), Dana Anderson posted a 178 (23rd) and
Amanda Preston tied for 28th place with a 181.
The
tournament ends the 2007-2008 season for the Mavericks. MSC won
a record three tournaments this year and two second place finishes.
