2008 Commencement Ceremony

Graduation Time Line for Ceremony Participants
Student’s who wish to participate in the ceremony should have already turned in their graduation paperwork to the Registrar’s Office.  For those who are participating in the ceremony, here are some important dates to remember:

March 6-7

Cap, Gown, Announcements, Class Rings & Other Graduation Supplies
Thursday, March 6, from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Friday, March 7, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
Herff-Jones will be in Boettcher Room in the College Center to answer questions and place orders. Orders may also be placed online through March 23 at Herff-Jones. After March 23, caps & gowns may be purchased during distribution in May and a $15 late fee will be assessed. Please call the MSC Bookstore at 970-248-1422 if you have further questions. Note to Master's graduates, your hoods will be furnished by Mesa State College and presented to you at the ceremony.

Mailed April 25
Rain Day Tickets
We will mail your four rain day tickets in case the ceremony is moved indoors due to bad weather. Keep in mind that there is no guest limit for the outdoor ceremony. 
May 12-16
Honor Cord Pickup - Stop by the Registrar’s Office with a picture ID.
To be eligible for Honors Cords you must meet the following criteria:
- Mesa State College GPA of a 3.50 or higher
- Earning a baccalaureate or associate degree
- Finish your requirements by the end of Spring 2008
May 15-16
Cap and Gown Pickup
Caps and gowns will be distributed from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the MSC Bookstore.
Friday, May 16
Afternoon
Rehearsal at Stocker Stadium
Everyone participating in commencement needs to attend the rehearsal.  Meet in the East stands at Stocker Stadium at 4:00 p.m. The rehearsal normally takes about an hour.
Saturday, May 17
7:30 a.m.
The Big Day – 2008 Commencement Ceremony
Although the ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m., graduates need to arrive one hour prior to the ceremony. Graduates should enter from North Avenue across from McDonalds and meet under the grandstands. Pick up your name card when you arrive. If you feel your name is difficult to pronounce, feel free to add a phonetic spelling to the card.
