May 2008 Commencement Ceremony

8:30 a.m.
(Graduates must arrive by 7:30 a.m.)

Weather Conditions/Rain Plan
Grand Junction weather can change dramatically and the outdoor ceremony will take most of the morning. Please be aware of the forecast and come prepared for both the expected and unexpected. We suggest: a hat, sunscreen, bottled water, jacket, poncho or umbrella. In the event of heavy rain or snow, the ceremony may be moved indoors.
 
Ticket/Guest Limit
As long as the ceremony is held outside at Stocker Stadium-Lincoln Park there is no limit to the number of family and friends you invite to the ceremony. However, if the rain plan is implemented, there will be a limit of four guests per graduate due to the smaller facility in Saunders Fieldhouse. The four rain plan tickets for your guests will be mailed to you by the end of April 2008.

Honor Cord Pickup (May 12-May 16)
Stop by the Registrar’s Office with a picture ID. To be eligible for Honors Cords you must meet the following criteria:
- Mesa State College GPA of a 3.50 or higher
- Earning a baccalaureate or associate degree
- Finish your requirements by the end of Spring 2008

Cap and Gown Pickup (May 15-May 16)
Caps and gowns will be distributed from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the MSC Bookstore. Orders for caps and gowns should have already been placed, however, you may still purchase caps & gowns during distribution with an additional $15 late fee. Stop by the MSC Bookstore or contact us at 970-248-1422 for further details.

Rehearsal at Stocker Stadium (May 16)
Students participating in commencement need to attend the rehearsal.  Meet in the East stands at Stocker Stadium at 4:00 p.m. The rehearsal normally takes about an hour.

To ensure that you receive all your graduation information, please keep your address information up-to-date. You can view or update it through MAVZone "Students" tab or stop by the Registrar's Office.
