For more than three quarters of a century, Mesa State College
has been dedicated to maintaining a community that is varied and
intellectually stimulating, and a campus rich in learning resources
and natural beauty. As an engaged partner with western Colorado,
Mesa State creates opportunities for an interactive flow of knowledge
between campus and the diverse communities that surround and support
us.
Any person 60 years of age or older may take classes at Mesa
State on a non-credit basis. Passport students do not take
exams and all writing assignments are not mandatory. No grade
is reported and no records are kept. The purpose of
the program is to allow people 60 and over to stay active in the
college community and add to the discussion from a varied perspective.
Enrollment
in the Senior Passport to Education program requires consent of
the instructor. Enrolled students of Mesa State will have priority
for openings in classes. Passport students will not be allowed
in classes which are at capacity. Books, lab fees, special equipment
fees, supplies, private lessons, and community education courses
(ie. non-credit, lifelong learning, corporate education, personal
enrichment, etc.) are NOT included in the Senior Passport to Education
program.
To enroll in the Senior Passport to Education program, stop by
the Registrar's office in the lower level of Lowell Heiny Hall.
Get the Senior Passport to Education enrollment form. Take it
with you on the first day of classes. Get the instructor's signature
on the form. Return the completed form to the Registrar's office.
