Why did you choose Mesa State College?
I loved the location, it's beautiful in Grand Junction. Also
being from the Denver area, where most everyone goes to the
same college out of high school I wanted to go somewhere different!
What are some of the opportunities
you have taken advantage of at Mesa State?
I have been involved in everything from Associated Student
Government to being an Ambassador to going to Cultural Diversity's
Unity Fest. Mesa State is the size of college where you can
participate in almost anything if you want to, you don't have
to be already know someone.
Who are your favorite professors
and why?
Dr. Morris Brown, he forced me to learn the material he taught
and to be good at it, even though it wasn't for my degree.
Dr. Hatten, he is so patient and cooperative with his students.
He really cares about their education.
What do you hope to do when you
graduate?
Work for a company doing recruiting or focusing on Human Resource
work.
What would you recommend to a freshman
just starting out at Mesa State?
Relax and enjoy. Allow yourself the opportunities that present
themselves and take advantage of them. Give everything a chance.
What does your education/degree
mean to you personally?
It means a great deal to me, I happen to be the first one
in my family to graduate from college.
What are your greatest accomplishments
while at Mesa State?
Holding the position of Director of Finance for the student
body, being an Ambassador and making a difference for 3 years.
Have you received any scholarships
or awards?
Yes, the Ambassador Leadership Scholarship.
Any other comments?
I would never change the decision I made to go to Mesa State
in a million years.
