Mesa State College is considered a comprehensive four-year state
college and receives over 3,400 applications each year from nearly
every state and several foreign countries. Admission is considered
moderately selective at the baccalaureate level and is based on
high school grade point average, ACT or SAT test scores, and high

Students interested in an associate or certificate program need
to submit an application for admission, transcripts, and ACT or
SAT test score. The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science
Degree Programs at Mesa State College are designed to prepare
students for upper division collegiate work in colleges and universities
granting the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
degree. The A.A. and A.S. degrees at Mesa State College are part
of the Colorado Core Transfer Consortium Program which will meet
the lower-division general education requirements for MSC baccalaureate
degree programs and other four-year programs at most Colorado
colleges and universities.
To be considered for admission to Mesa State College all students
are required to submit a completed application
with a $30.00 ($50.00* MBA Program) non-refundable application
fee. To provide sufficient time to process your application, all
required information must be received two weeks prior to the semester
you plan to attend. Mesa State College will not offer financial
aid until you have been admitted to the college. To be considered
for all funds available through need-based aid programs (grants,
loans) and merit-based aid programs (scholarships) for fall semester,
you should submit your financial aid application as soon as possible
after January 1 and no later than March 1. For a financial aid

Students applying to the Department of Nursing and Radiologic
Sciences, Accounting Program, or one of the Music programs must
submit a separate application in addition to the Mesa State College
Application. Please contact the Department of Nursing and Radiologic
Sciences at (970) 248-1398 to receive the additional application
for nursing. Contact the School of Professional Studies at (970)
248-1656 for an accounting application. Contact the Department
of Music at (970) 248-1233. All students applying to the Department
of Nursing and Radiologic Sciences or the Department of Accounting
and Information Technology must have either SAT or ACT results.
An official transcript is one that is sent directly to the Admissions
Office from an issuing institution(s) that you have previously
attended. Send the application and all other pertinent information
to: Admissions Office, Mesa State College, 1100 North Avenue,
Grand Junction, Colorado 81501-3122. Transfer students with fewer
than 30 semester credit hours must submit ACT or SAT test scores
and high school and college transcripts. To be considered for
unconditional admission, a transfer student must be in good academic
standing. Decisions are made on a rolling basis.
International students seeking admission must provide the following:
an international student application for admission, academic transcripts
(certified translation to English), an affidavit of financial
support, proof of available funds, evidence of medical insurance,
and provide proof of immunization for measles, mumps, and rubella.
Those students whose primary language is not English must provide
evidence of proficiency in English. The English requirement can
be achieved by scoring a 525 or higher on the Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or score a Band 6 or higher on
the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or
score a minimum of 80 on the Michigan Test of English, or by successfully
completing an approved ESL program. International students should
apply by May 1 for fall semester and October 1 for spring semester.
