Information for Parents
Welcome
As a parent or guardian of an accepted Mesa State College student,
you are invited to attend the Orientation program as well (your
attendance will be confirmed through your student's Orientation
registration). Although you will be able to be with your student
most of the day, one goal of the Orientation process is to give
students the resources needed to succeed independently in the world
of higher education. For that reason, you will have some informative
panels and discussions separate from your student's schedule, and
your student will go through the advising and registration sessions
independently (with the help of our trained advising staff and faculty
members of course).
We understand that as a parent or guardian, this may be the first
time that your student has been away from home for any length of
time, and that can be a little bit stressful and scary. You are
not alone. The entire Mesa State campus is here to help ease the
transition for both you and your student. Please take full advantage
of the resources available to you on our website, and if you ever
have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
