Entrance Loan Counseling
If you are a first-time borrower or a transfer student, it is a
federal government requirement that students complete a student
loan entrance counseling session before they can obtain a Federal
Stafford student loan. This session is offered with a bank representative
at the beginning of the semester. The purpose of this session is
to help you to understand your rights and obligations as a student
loan borrower.

Exit Loan Counseling
When students cease to be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours
at Mesa State College, they must complete a student loan exit counseling
session. This session is offered with a bank representative at the
end of every semester. You may contact the Financial Aid Office
for an appointment. The purpose of this session is to inform you
of various forbearance's, deferments and repayment options, as well
as your rights and responsibilities to your Federal Stafford loan.
Perkins Loans

at the beginning of the semester. The purpose of this session is
to help you to understand your rights and obligations as a student
loan borrower.
