SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NEW INCOMING FRESHMEN
2008-2009
Mesa State College Academic Excellence Scholarship

Criteria: Available to one graduating senior from each of
the following high schools: Grand Junction, Fruita Monument, Central,
Palisade and one recipient from a pool of applicants from Plateau
Valley, DeBeque, Gateway and private schools in Mesa County. Students
must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 to apply and plan to attend
Mesa State College full time (minimum 12 credit hours per semester).
Student may not receive this scholarship if they are receiving any
of the following Mesa State College scholarships: Academic Achievement,
Presidential, Trustees, Distinguished Scholar or Ambassador.
Value: Tuition and student fees for up to four years, maximum
of 15 credit hours per semester

Alpine Bank Hispanic Scholarship

Criteria: Available to graduating seniors in the Alpine Bank
service area who will be attending Mesa State College full-time.
Recipient must be of Hispanic or Latino descent. Recipient shall
have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Recipient nust be a U. S. citizen or have
a resident alien registration number.
Value: $2000

American Business Women Association (ABWA) WCCC Scholarship

Criteria: Available to a female pursuing an Associate degree
at WCCC who is a Mesa County, Colorado resident to attend Mesa State

Value: $500 for up to two years

City of Grand Junction Scholarship

Criteria: Available to students enrolled in an Associate
of Applied Science (AAS) technical degree or a Certificate program
at the WCCC who are City of Grand Junction residents to attend Mesa
State College/WCCC full time (minimum 12 credit hours per semester).

Clough Fellows, Genevieve Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship is available to eligible high
school graduates of Garfield County School Districts 16 and RE-2.
Graduates of the current school year will be given first preference,
however, graduates from two years prior are also eligible to apply.
This scholarship is also available to eligible applicants who reside
in the same geographic area and have completed a GED in the last
three years.

Emerson Family Softball Scholarship

graduating senior or transfer student, who excel in softball and
will be an active member of the Mesa State College softball team.

Meadow Gold Dairy Culinary Arts Scholarship

Criteria: Available to a Colorado resident student to attend
Mesa State College (WCCC) majoring in Culinary (Associate Degree
in Culinary Arts) full time (minimum 12 credit hours each semester)
with a minimum GPA of 2.0.

National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Chapter
#359 Scholarship

Criteria: Available to a female student enrolled at the WCCC
and taking Drafting, Electric Lineman, or Manufacturing Technology
with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to attend Mesa State College/WCCC full
time (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester).
Value: $500. Recipient will receive an annual student membership
to The NAWIC Western Colorado Chapter #359.

ProStart Scholarship

Criteria: Available to a student majoring in Culinary Arts
with a minimum GPA of 2.0 to attend Mesa State College/WCCC full

earned ProStart Certificate of Completion and must matriculate to
Mesa State College within 24 months of high school graduation.

Associate degree program.
