AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship
Available to AICPA members, full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a minimum 3.0 who
has completed at least 30 credit hours, including 6 hours in accounting.

The Alexander Foundation
This program provides financial assistance for educational needs to gay or lesbian students, as well as those students who come from gay or lesbian families. Applications are available at the Financial Aid Office.

American Association of University Women (AAUW Education Foundation)
Fellowships, grants and awards with fall application deadlines are available for women scholars.

American Chemical Society Scholars Program
Applicant must be either African American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian; US Citizen; full-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or better; and be able to demonstrate evidence of financial need according to the FAFSA form. Applicant must also be majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science and planning a career in the chemical sciences or chemical technology.

American Indian Scholars Scholarship Program
Applicant must be a verifiable American Indian; a Colorado resident and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Applicant must be an outstanding woman accounting student with a minimum GPA of 3.0, have successfully completed Accounting I, completed 60 semester hours with a declared major in Accounting and demonstrate financial need.

Byrd, Robert C. Scholarship
Available to graduating high school students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for Fall 2006 semester with a minimum 3.8 GPA and an ACT score of 31 or above or SAT score of 2040 or above. Must be legal Colorado resident and a U. S. citizen, national or permanent resident.

CFMA Tim Smith Memorial Scholarship
Available to students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study with a declared major in the area of accounting, finance or other financial management study.

Colorado Authors' League
Available to full-time students who are Colorado residents, enrolled full-time with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Must have completed at least 12 hours of undergraduate study. Must demonstrate financial need.

Colorado Business and Professional Women's Foundation, Inc. Scholarship
Available to women who have resided in Colorado for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding application and who are U.S. citizens to attend an educational institution of higher learning or vocational training located and accredited in Colorado. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, scholastic ability, leadership skills, and career goals and be a non-traditional age, preferable 25 years or older.

Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants Education Foundation Awards
$1,000 scholarships are available to accounting majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applications are accepted twice yearly, for the fall and spring semester. Deadlines are June 30 for fall and November 30 for spring.

County Sheriffs Of Colorado Scholarship
Available to any permanent resident of a Colorado county participating in th eHonorary Membership Program of County Sheriffs of Colorado (this excludes residents from Pitkin county) and enrolled in, or applying to , a vocational training program or institution of higher learning in the state of Colorado as a full or part-time student is eligible. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Cox, James M. Jr. Foundation Scholarship
Available to residents of the Western Slope, Colorado with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to help prepare students for a newspaper career. Preference will be given to college Sophomore or Juniors with a declared major in Journalism, Advertising or Mass Communications. Special consideration will be given to Mesa State College students. Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Alpha Mu Chapter
$1000 scholarship available to female students who wish to enter the teaching profession. Must be a junior or senior in the Spring 2008, working toward a teacher licensure. Minimum GPA 3.0. Must be planning to follow a teaching career.

Daughters of the American Revolution DAR Scholarship
Scholarships are available to students who are U.S. citizens attending an accredited college or university in the United States. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter.

Department of Homeland Security Scholarship and Fellowship Program
Applicant must be a U. S. citizen and have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Applicant must be majoring in the physical sciences, mathematical sciences, computer and information sciences, life sciences, social sciences, psychology, selected humanities, or engineering. Applicant must be in second year of college if they have been attending full-time. If applicant has been attending part-time, they must have completed a minimum of 45 but no more than 60 semester hours. Recipients must complete a 10-week, continuous, off-campus research internship at a DHS-designated facility during the summer between your first and second year appointment.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship
Applicant must attend a Colorado school and demonstrate a financial need; a currently enrolled matriculating post-secondary student at the time the application is submitted; full or part-time; and must possess an earned cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

The Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association
Eligibility criteria includes current enrollment and matriculation in the nursing program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree, or enrolled in an RN to BSN, RN to MSN, or LPN/LVN to RN program; pre-nursing students taking courses to prepare for matriculation into a nursing program; taking no less than 6 credit hours per semester; involvement in student nursing organizations and/or community health activities; documented academic achievement; established financial need; and US citizen or Alien with US Permanent Resident Status/ Alien Registration Number.

John Gyles Education Awards
Available to students in both Canada and the United States. Awards are available to both male and female students for all areas of post secondary study. A minimum GPA of 2.7 is required. Criteria other than strictly academic ability and financial need are considered in the selection process.
Application deadlines: April 1st, June 1st and November 15th

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS)
Available to refugees and asylees who were registered by HIAS to come to the U. S. Student must have immigrated after January 1, 1992. Student must have completed 2 semester of study at any combination of U. S. high school, undergarduate or graduate school at the time of application.

Latin American Educational Foundation (LAEF)
Student must be a Colorado resident of Hispanic heritage and/or actively involved in the Hispanic community with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Student must complete 10 hours community service during the year of funding.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
Scholarships are available to son's or daughter's of a Marine on active duty; or in the Reserve or of a former Marine or Marine Reservist who has received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge, or who was killed while in the service of our country; or of an active duty, reserve, or former U.S. Navy Corpsman who is serving or has served, with the U.S. Marine Corps. Applicant's 2003 family income must be $58,000 or less to be considered. *The limit increases if siblings also apply.

Pinnacol Foundation
Available to the natural, adopted or step-child of, or fully dependent on, a worker killed or permanently injured in a compensable work-related accident or by a compensable occupational disease during the course and scope of employment with a Colorado-based employer. The parent, or deceased parent's family, must have been entitled to receive benefits under the Colorado Worker's Compensation Act. Student must be between the ages of 16 and 25 at the time of the application, have a high school diploma, GED or be a high school senior in good standing. The student must demonstrate financial need. The academic achievement, aptitude and community service of the applicant is considered.

Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates Collegiate Cycling Scholarship
Available to a full-time Mesa State College student that is also a member of the Mesas State Cycling Team and holds a current USA Cycling racing license.
Application is available from the Cycling Team coach or you may pick up an application in the Office of Financial Aid.

Rotary Scholarships for Study Abroad
The Grand Junction Downtown Rotary Club is actively soliciting applicants for Rotary Foundation Scholarships being awarded this summer for study abroad in 2005-2006 and for 2007.
Ambassadorial Scholarships are for one academic year abroad and provide funding for round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, room and board, up to a maximum of $25,000.
Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships provide funding for three months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country up to a maximum of $13,000.
Rotary World Peace Scholarship provides 70 scholarships worldwide, specifically for two-year master’s degree programs in academic pursuits relating to peace initiatives. These scholarships provide study abroad in more than 160 countries where Rotary clubs are located.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund
Scholarships available to undergraduate full or part-time women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago, and who are now seeking a college degree and have at least two semesters left to complete their degree. Applications available at their website.

USA Funds scholarships
The program offers $1,500 scholarships to qualified full-time and half-time undergraduate and full-time graduate and professional students. Applicants must be a member of Western Rockies Federal Credit Union. Selection criteria includes the need for financial assistance, 2.0 minimum grado point average of 2.0, essay answer, and college acceptance. Scholarships must be applied to degree granting programs of higher education loacted in Mesa, Garfield, Eagle and Pitkin Counties. Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest
This contest is designed to challenge college students to analyze the urgent ethical issues confronting them in today's complex world. Students are encouraged to write thought-provoking personal essays that raise questions, single out issues and are rational arguments for ethical action.
