Mesa State's F&A Rate Agreement is with the Department of Health and Human Services
and is dated May 30, 2007.

Base: The F&A rate base is Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC). The rate is applied to all salaries and wages, fringe benefits, materials, supplies, services, travel, and subgrants and subcontracts up to the first $25,000 of each subgrant or subcontract (regardless of the period covered by the subgrant or subcontract). MTDC excludes capital equipment, capital expenditures, tuition remission, scholarships and fellowships, as well as the portion of each subgrant or subcontract in excess of $25,000.

Capital Equipment: Capital equipment is defined as tangible, nonexpendable, personal property having a useful life of more than one year and an acquisition cost of $5,000 or more per unit.

Applicability: The F&A rate is applicable to all programs which include, but is not limited to, research, instruction, and training programs both on and off campus.

Fringe Benefits

Fringe benefit rates are based on actuals per our F&A Rate Agreement dated 05/30/2007. Please contact the Office of Sponsored Programs to process benefit rates for your proposal and/or award.
