ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Admissions Counselor
RESPONSIBILITIES: The counselor is a member
of the Admissions' Office team and will make in-office presentations
to prospective students and parents, answer daily phone inquires,
counsel walk-in traffic, participate in staff meetings. Utilize
effective interpersonal skills, work independently and in teams.
They must exhibit honesty, tact and integrity relating to campus
policies, student records and office/campus working protocols.
Responsible for recruiting territories locally and
out of state, including goal setting, scheduling visits, maintaining
records, identifying demographic trends, building relationships
with high schools and community colleges and other prospects through
e-mail, web, phone, visits, text and direct mail.
The counselor shall perform preliminary financial
aid, scholarship and career counseling with all audiences and maintain
a high awareness of MSC and WCCC admission requirements. The counselor
will handle individual complaints from audiences related to the
admission process and MSC and is expected to do so tactfully and
carefully.
Assists students with advising and course registration.
Has frequent travel outside the office and works evenings and weekends
as needed. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Works with other MSC offices on recruitment activities.
Demonstrates a knowledge of activity relating to the recruitment
and retention of all students, with particular emphasis on multicultural
and other students of diverse background.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate
Director and Director of Admissions.
Must have a valid Colorado drivers license.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's
Degree from an accredited institution is required. One year of experience
in the area of higher education admissions, program planning, and
recruiting is preferred.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Twelve-month, full-time
administrative position.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience.
