ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
POSITION TITLE: Assistant Professor of Radiologic
Technology
RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include teaching
and advising in department instructional program, developing on-line
learning instruction for courses, actively participating in faculty
meetings and committees reflecting professional contributions to
shared governance, developing and maintaining an active scholarship
agenda, maintaining good rapport with cooperating health facilities,
evaluating efficiency and appropriateness of teaching methods through
established evaluation approaches, and advising students and applicants
to the program.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Candidate must be an ARRT
or equivalent registered technologist.
Masters degree required, PhD preferred. Certification in an advanced
specialty preferred. Preference also given for practical work
experience in appropriate fields, and college/university level teaching
experience.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience.

APPOINTMENT: Full-time, tenure track appointment
to begin Fall, 2008.
LOCATION: Grand Junction is nestled below
three mountain ranges: the Bookcliffs,
the Colorado National Monument, and the Grand Mesa. Grand Junction
is
west of the Rockies and 30 miles from the Utah border. The moderate
climate provides year-round recreation activities from fishing to
skiing.
The city and valley of approximately 135,000 is the economic hub
of the region, located midway between Denver and Salt Lake City.
THE COLLEGE: Mesa State College is a growing
public institution with an enrollment of approximately 6500 students.
The college has a major commitment to the Health Science Department
including the AAS and BAS in Radiologic Technology, three Nursing
degrees and both EMS and Paramedic programs. The college is also
committed to science and liberal arts education and to the encouragement
of scholarship.
