ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach


RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and implement a successful recruiting strategy to attract outstanding student-athletes while remaining in full compliance with all NCAA and RMAC rules (as well as departmental and college policies and procedures), and maintaining fiscal responsibility. Coordinate and implement all aspects of video game exchange, editing, visiting teams' practice and shootaround sessions, and student-athlete academic progress. Assist the head coach in the organization and development of practice sessions and group workouts, as well as all aspects of a conditioning program. Assist in the coordination, development, supervision and daily operations of summer camp activities, as well as fundraising and marketing events for the basketball program and Mesa State College. Coordinate and implement with the head coach and compliance officer eligibility requirements to ensure full compliance and proper administration of financial aid. Communicate regularly and maintain a positive and constructive working relationship with the head coach, student-athletes, parents, alumni, athletic support staff and campus-wide personnel. Represent the college at professional meetings, alumni gatherings, campus activities and civic affairs as requested by the head coach or athletic administrators. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the head coach. Weekend and evening work is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required, Master's Degree is preferred. Experience playing basketball at the collegiate level preferred. Must have demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and of basic principles of coaching basketball and team supervision. Proven ability to effectively coordinate recruiting activities, and to maintain team discipline and instill proper ethical and moral standards required.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-Time administrative appointment to begin June 1, 2008 with potential to earn summer camp income or July 1, 2008 without camp.

SALARY: $29,788 - $36,988
