ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Assistant Professor of Business - Finance
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Business seeks applications
for a tenure-track position in the area of business with an emphasis
in finance. Teaching will be required at both the undergraduate
and graduate levels in finance and related areas. Applicants must
document ability to teach in at least two of the following areas:
managerial finance, investments, finance strategy, public accounting,
governmental accounting, entrepreneurial finance, portfolio management,
international finance, and quantitative decision making, as well
as other related business areas. Continued involvement with professional
organizations, scholarship in discipline, advising, and service
to the academic community will be expected.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Preference will be given to
qualified applicants with a Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related
area from an accredited institution. Master's degree and professional
certification in finance or closely related area is required. ABDs
are welcome to apply but must demonstrate by letter from Lead Advisor
the ability to complete the Ph.D. prior to August 2008. College-level
teaching and advising experience, significant practical work experience
and scholarship (to include publication record in field and involvement
in professional organizations) will be given preference as will
college and community service. The successful candidate will demonstrate
the ability to contribute to the overall strength of the Finance
Concentration and the Business Department.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, tenure-track appointment
to begin in August, 2008.
SALARY: The salary range is $55 to $65k, commensurate with
experience and qualifications. Excellent health and retirement benefits
package.
