ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Department of Health Sciences
POSITION TITLE: Nursing Program Director -
LPN-AAS Program
RESPONSIBILITIES: This tenure
track position seeks a qualified individual to fulfill the responsibilities
of LPN-AAS Program Director (25%) and teaching responsibilities
(75%) within the Nursing Program and the Department of Health Sciences.
Program Director responsibilities include: developing and maintaining
LPN-AAS Program relationships within the department and within the
community; developing and coordinating the use of educational facilities
and clinical resources; recruiting faculty for employment and assisting
with classroom and clinical performance review of faculty; development,
evaluation, and revision of student admission, progression, retention,
and graduation policies; and advising and guidance of students.
Teaching responsibilities include teaching assigned classes; developing
appropriate course descriptions, policies and grading criteria for
all assigned classes; establishing procedures to maintain accurate
records of student performance; evaluation of efficiency and appropriateness
of teaching methods through established evaluation approaches, and
development and maintenance of active scholarship agenda.
EDUCATION andEXPERIENCE: Candidate
must hold a current license in good standing to practice as a Registered
Nurse in Colorado and have a minimum of two years full-time (or
equivalent) clinical experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
Candidate must have a graduate degree in nursing or related field
(or complete degree within one year of employment) and have two
years of full-time experience (or equivalent) in teaching nursing
in an approved nursing education program. Administrative experience
in program management is preferred.
SALARY: $50,000 for 9 (nine) month appointment
APPOINTMENT: Full-time, tenure track appointment
to begin Fall, 2008
