ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Nursing Program Director - Licensed Professional Nursing Program
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will fulfill
the responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Program Director
(50%) as well as teaching responsibilities (50%) within the Program
and the Department of Health Sciences. Program Director responsibilities
include developing and maintaining LPN Program relationships both
within the department and within the community; developing and coordinating
the use of educational facilities and clinical resources; recruiting
faculty for employment and assisting with classroom and clinical
performance review of faculty; developing, evaluating, and revision
of student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies;
and, advising and guidance of students. Teaching responsibilities
include teaching assigned classes; developing appropriate course
descriptions, policies and grading criteria for all assigned classes;
establishing procedures to maintain accurate records of student
performance; evaluation of efficiency and appropriateness of teaching
methods through established evaluation approaches; and, development
and maintenance of active scholarship agenda.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Must hold a current
license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Colorado,
and have a minimum of two years full-time (or equivalent) clinical
experience as a practicing Registered Nurse. Graduate degree in
Nursing or related field (or completion of degree within one year
of employment) and two years of full-time experience (or equivalent)
in teaching nursing in an approved nursing education program. Administrative
experience in program management desirable but not required.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, tenure track
appointment to begin Fall, 2008.
SALARY: $50,000/year for 9 (nine) month appointment.
