ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Teacher Preparation Coordinator
Mesa State College invites applications and nominations
for the Teacher Preparation Coordinator. The successful candidate
for this position will work with the undergraduate program in the
Center for Teacher Education. Mesa State College is interested in
applicants who are deeply committed to K - 12 teacher preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual serving as teacher preparation
coordinator will maintain teacher education undergraduate student
records, update essential undergraduate publications and documents,
advise undergraduate students on admissions, course sequence and
procedures, provide support for teacher education faculty through
public relations and program recruiting, coordinate colloquia, orientation
and CTE presentations, process Americorp applications and maintain
Americorp documents and records, coordinate with the graduate coordinator
and assist with Capstone preparations, use Banner to access student
data for the department and provide materials and data for accreditation
documentation.
Some after hours, evening and weekend work is required
each semester.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree
from a four-year college or university is required. Classroom and/or
administrative experience at the K-12 level is required. Knowledge
of Colorado Department of Education licensing regulations is preferred.
The successful candidate must have strong communication skills,
be highly organized and an experienced problem-solver.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Twelve-month, part-time
(.8) administrative position working 4 days a week.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with education
