Programs of Study / Majors

New Programs. New Majors. New Energy.

Lady in ClassroomOur academic programs are undergoing the same revitalization as the rest of our campus. We take great pride in providing educational opportunities that help students succeed in today's complex and interconnected world. That's why we've developed exciting new degree programs to complement existing majors and integrated cutting-edge technology throughout our campus.

With more than 1,800 classes, 57 majors (ranging from certificates to master's degrees), and over 30 minors, it's a curriculum so diverse you can be whatever you want. Whether you're interested in a well-rounded liberal arts education, the sciences, or professional training a bright future of unlimited potential awaits.

A Unique Learning Environment

Mesa State values teaching, learning, and student-faculty interaction. All classes are taught by faculty who put their time and energy into the classroom (you won't find a TA around here!). With our outstanding student-to-teacher ratio, professors have a chance to be more than teachers -- they become mentors and advisors.

Dedicated to helping students achieve their goals, our professors create an environment designed to foster a dynamic exchange of ideas and lively classroom discussions.

With a student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1, interaction of students and faculty is commonplace and affords faculty the ability to involve undergraduates in challenging research experiences usually found in graduate programs. In-class instruction is supplemented by a variety of out-of-class opportunities that range from fieldwork in western Colorado to study groups that travel the globe. In short, Mesa State College is large enough to offer opportunities found at a university, but small enough to make students' experience a personal one.

Students are supported by a full range of academic services designed to support their success. Programs and services include academic advising, career services, tutoring, special disability services, and Tomlinson Library, open 7 days a week with additional support by a statewide online reference program.

Simply put, Mesa State College offers a private college educational experience at the price of a public institution. We invite you to explore the quality programs available and hope to see you at Mesa State soon.
