About Grand Junction and surrounding areas:

The average high temperature in Grand Junction, Colorado in January is usually around 38 to 45 degrees F.

Warm clothing is necessary for our brief field work.

Many ski areas are located within 100 miles radius, including Powderhorn which provides reasonable prices for family ski fun.

The scenic areas, including Colorado National Monument, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Arches National Park are all located within 2-hour driving time from Grand Junction and provide opportunities for viewing geology and wildlife.
