Community Arts Forum to Explore Art as a Career

Grand Junction, CO - Beginning on Thursday, January 22, community art patrons are invited to join Mesa State students for a series of art forums that will explore the various facets of a career in art. This free series will feature a variety of guest speakers and topics, including:

Working with Community Art Centers and Art Museums; Curating Exhibits
Dr. Steven Bradley, Director, Western Colorado Center for the Arts

Thursday, February 5
Organizing, Directing and Transitioning New Gallery Space
Dianna Chilton and Joanne Weatherly, Chilton Weatherly Gallery

Thursday, February 26
Being a Successful Artist and Promoting a Successful Artist
Dave Davis, Artist; Keesha Davis, Artist Agent; Amanda Davis, Artist Intern

Thursday, March 11
Managing an Alternative Arts Space

Tuesday, March 30
Managing the Arts Commission; Art on the Corner Administration

These forums will be held on the designated days from 3 - 4:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building, room 302. The series is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
