Grand Mesa Summer Dance Festival to Conclude with Student Repertory Dance Concert

Grand Junction, CO - The Grand Mesa Summer Dance Festival at Mesa State College will conclude with a student repertory dance concert on Friday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robinson Theatre of the Moss Performing Arts Center.

"This concert will let talented young dancers from around the United States showcase the skills that they have acquired during the Grand Mesa Dance Festival, as well as their own individual personalities," said Tony Coppola, Festival executive director and co-director of Mesa State's dance program. "It will include an exciting and eclectic mixture of dance styles and should be fun for both the young dancers and the audience."

Middle school through college-age dancers, as well as teachers, are participating in this year's Festival, where they are performing, learning and exploring the many facets of dance. In addition to technique classes at various levels, the Festival is also featuring special performances and concerts, lectures and discussion groups pertaining to all areas of a dancer's needs. Daily classes include ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and repertoire classes with guest choreographers, workshops and special seminars for teachers.

Tickets for the student repertory dance concert are $8/adults, $6/seniors and $5/children and full-time students. They can be purchased from the Mesa State Box Office at 970.248.1604, extension 3.
