Patrick Doyle to Serve as Vice President for Finance

Grand Junction, CO - Mesa State College has hired Patrick Doyle to serve as its vice president for finance.

"Patrick will bring over 20 years of solid higher education experience to Mesa State College," said Tim Foster, Mesa State College President. "This, in addition to his working knowledge of accounting, business and finance, will be an asset to the College, particularly in this era of tight budgets."

Doyle, who was selected from a field of more than 65 applicants, anticipates starting at the college on August 16. As vice president for finance, he will oversee all phases of Mesa State's business activity, including the controller, budget office, information technology, human resources, purchasing and facilities. Doyle will also serve as a member of the president's cabinet and as a financial advisor.

His experience includes nine years working as the vice president for business and finance and the treasurer of the board of regents at Eastern Michigan University. Prior to these positions, he also served Eastern Michigan University in the capacities of assistant vice president for business and finance, assistant to the previous vice president for business and finance, assistant controller, general supervisor of student accounting and accountant.

"I was initially interested in Mesa State College because of the quality of the institution and its exciting new leadership," said Doyle. "Now, having had the opportunity to visit the campus and meet its exceptional staff and faculty, I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to working at an institution where I can add value and be valued - a winning combination."

Doyle holds a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting from the University of Detroit and a Masters of Arts degree in communications from Eastern Michigan University.
