Sigma Xi Public Lecture

The Mesa State College chapter of Sigma Xi will host "A Colorado Immunization Update," a public lecture by Dr. James Shira on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Liff Auditorium of the W.W. Campbell College Center.

Dr. Shira, who is the past president of the Colorado Childhood Immunization Coalition and currently on staff at Denver's Children's Hospital, will address the current childhood immunization situation, recent outbreaks of childhood infectious diseases and the implications for public health. He will also discuss public concerns about childhood immunization programs, particularly in light of the fact that Colorado's childhood immunization rate is the lowest in the United States.
