Fall Application Deadline Nears for MBA Program
Grand Junction, Colo. - Designed to meet the educational
needs of working professionals, the Mesa State College master of
business administration (MBA) degree program is accepting student
applications for the fall 2005 semester through April 1.
The 36 credit hour MBA curriculum is designed to provide students
with a broad background in business, including accounting, finance,
marketing and management, while also allowing the individual to
focus on a specialized area of study. Classes are taught by professors
who have both terminal degrees in business-related fields and practical
business experience. In addition, the classes, which meet in the
evening to accommodate individuals who work during the day, are
purposefully kept small to encourage student interaction.
In its eighth year, the MBA program currently has more than 50
students enrolled, including western Colorado residents and international
scholars from Canada, France, Nepal, Mexico and Korea. This spring,
the program anticipates graduating 23 students, its largest class
to date.
Past Mesa State MBA graduates are currently working regionally
in city and county government and the health care industry, and
several others have become successful entrepreneurs. In addition,
another MBA graduate is now working for the Department of Defense
and two others have taken international positions in New Caledonia.
Fall semester 2005 classes will begin the week of Aug. 22. For
more information or to request an application, contact Mary Vail,
Graduate Programs Coordinator, at 970.248.1778 or mvail@mesastate.edu.
