Mesa State College 15th Annual Media Day Winners Announced

Grand Junction, Colo. - More than 300 journalism students from Western Slope high schools recently competed for awards and scholarships during the 15th Annual Media Day, held March 8 at Mesa State College's W.W. Campbell College Center.

The winners in each category were:

Best all-around large school yearbook:
1. Durango High School, Durango, Colorado
2. Fruita Monument High School, Fruita, Colorado

Best all-around small school yearbook:
1. Cedaredge High School, Cedaredge, Colorado
2. Grand Valley High School, Parachute, Colorado
3. Plateau Valley High School, Collbran, Colorado

Best all-around large school newspaper:
1. Fruita Monument High School, Fruita, Colorado
2. Central High School, Grand Junction, Colorado
3. Palisade High School, Palisade, Colorado

Best all-around small school newspaper:
1. Grand Valley High School, Parachute, Colorado
2. Plateau Valley High School, Collbran, Colorado
3. Cedaredge High School, Cedaredge, Colorado
