Business Office

The Mesa State College Business Office supplies bills and account information to students and parents, disburses financial aid, provides refunds when owed, and offers various payment options and schedules to ensure bills are paid on time without penalty.

Spring Information:

  • New degree-seeking students starting in the Spring Session will be subject to the Matriculation Fee.
  • Some courses may have additional fees beyond the standard tuition and fees.
  • Enrollment for Student Health Insurance ends on February 15, 2007.
  • Tuition and fees for Spring Session are due on the first day of class and cannot be deferred.
  • Bills are mailed after August 16th. Past-due balances are subject to additional charges.
  • Official Withdrawal Form (PDF) all classes must be completed prior to the first day of the semester in order to receive a 100% refund.
  • View your account balance via Maverick On-line under "Student Services and Financial Aid", then click "Student Records" and "Account Balance";

Important Dates to Remember:

  • December 15, 2006- Deadline to pay past due balance to avoid deletion of spring registration
  • January 2, 2007- January Term courses begin
  • January 19, 2007- Financial Aid Disbursement in Liff Auditorium
  • January 19, 2007 - Last day to withdraw from all classes (excluding January Term) with a 100% refund
  • January 22, 2007- Spring term and first module courses begin - tuition and fees due
  • January 22, 2007- Last day for total withdraw with 100% refund of tuition and fees less 5% admin. fee (excluding January term)
  • January 29, 2007- Last day for total withdraw with 90% refund of tuition and fees less 5% admin. fee (excluding January term)
  • January 29, 2007- Last day to add or drop a first module class without receiving a grade
  • February 6, 2007- Census date - date after which credit hours are counted in COF attempted hours
  • February 6, 2007- Last day to add or drop a Spring semester class without receiving a grade
  • February 12, 2007- Last day for total withdraw with 50% refund of tuition and fees less 5% admin. fee (excluding January term)
  • February 15, 2007- Last day to pay tuition and fees without late fee
  • February 15, 2007- Last day to sign up for student health insurance
  • February 15, 2007- Last day to withdraw from a first module class with a grade of "W"
  • March 23, 2007- Last day for total withdraw with 25% refund of tuition and fees less 5% admin. fee (excludes January term)
  • March 26, 2007- Second module courses begin
  • March 26, 2007- Last day to withdraw from a full semester class with a grade of "W"
  • March 29, 2007- All charges due in order to register for the Summer and Fall 2007 semesters
  • April 2, 2007- Last day to add or drop a second module class without receiving a grade
  • April 20, 2007- Last day to withdraw from a second module class with a grade of "W"
  • May 11, 2007- Last day of courses
  • May 14-17, 2007- Final examinations
  • May 19, 2007- Commencement Ceremony

Important Billing Information

  • All Tuition and fees are due on the first day of class unless you are on the payment plan
  • If you still have a balance and are not on the payment plan by February 15th, you will be charged a $50 late fee and a 1% monthly service charge on your outstanding balance
  • You will not be allowed to register for classes or receive transcripts until you have paid off your account balance in full.
  • If you still have an account balance after the semester is over, you need to be paying on your account or your account will be sent to Colorado State Collections (you will be charged an extra 15% collection fee).

E-Cashier - Mesa State Payment Plan

  • Plan allows students to make payments during the semester to finance tuition, student fees, housing, and meal plans
  • Plan is interest free
  • There is a $30 administrative each semester you sign up for the plan
  • Payments for the payment plan can be made with automatic bank payments (ACH) or automatic credit card payments
  • Payments are made on the 5th of each month
  • Payment amounts adjust as changes are made on the account
  • There are a number of plan options which have different start dates and number of payments
  • Deadline to sign up for the plan:

                   - Fall - September 15, 2006
                   - Spring - February 15, 2007

  • If you sign up for the plan after the first payment is due, you need to make up the payment that you have missed when you sign up for the plan
  • Enroll in the FACTS Payment Plan online through Maverick On-line by logging in, then click on Student Services & Financial Aid, then Student Records, then E-cashier.
  • Be sure to have the following information:
  • Nine-digit student ID or 700 number
  • The name, address, and email address of the person responsible for making the payments
  • To protect your privacy, you will need to create your own unique FACTS Access Code. Please be sure it is something you can easily remember
  • Account information for the person responsible for payment
  • If paying by automatic bank payments, you will need the bank name, telephone number, account number, and the bank routing number. Most of this information is located on your check
  • If paying by credit card, you will need the credit card number and expiration date

1.  Develop a realistic budget for the semester.  Make sure that it is not so tight that you have no flexibility.

2.  Make sure you are using your meal card.  Don't waste meals

3.  Use a calling card to limit your long distant calls.

5.  Find free or inexpensive ways to entertain yourself   Go to student government activities or other events on campus that give discounts to students Participate in intramural sports Join a student club Rent videos or DVDs Get involved in the outdoor program

6.  If you think you need something, wait 24 hours before you buy it.

7.  Don't lend money to friends.
8.  Get a part time job or college work-study position.  Be sure to balance school and work.

9.  Buy used textbooks when you can.
