Frequent Questions About The Web Site

Question: Why do the pages look a little different in Netscape compared to Internet Explorer?

Answer: Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers each interpret and handle html code differently. There is not a standard between the two. The vast majority of our users make use of Internet Explorer as do most users on the Internet in general. Mesa State does its best to create pages which are presentable in versions of Netscape from 4.5 onward and from Internet Explorer 4.x and onward. Report browser incompatibility to the Webmaster.

Question:
Why do I get little messages when I hold my mouse over images?

Answer:
These are called "alt tags" and provide information for users with disabilities or for those who visit the site without images turned on. To comply with Section 508 guidelines, all images on Mesa State that convey information should have a description when the mouse is held over them. If you encounter any images that do not do this, please report missing alt tags to the Webmaster.

Question:
Why are the pages the size they are?

Answer: Mesa State web pages are designed to fit the most commonly used screen size for our visitors which is 800x600 pixels. Our pages should completely fill the screen, yet are designed so that they may be printed and will always contain the important information within the area that prints.

Question:
Who can create Mesa State web pages?

Answer:
