What is the H Drive?

The H Drive is space reserved on one of the Mesa State Servers for professors to save files in a way that the files are available for students. Most of the files are PowerPoint presentations, but any type of file may be placed on the H Drive.

Instructions (on campus)

To download or view files on the H Drive while logged into a computer on campus,

  • Double click the my computer icon, which is located on the Desktop.
  • Double click on the H Drive. Then a window showing many files will appear.
  • Double click on the "Download" folder. A window showing many more folders will appear. Each professor who uses the H Drive has a folder here.
  • Locate the folder named for your professor and double click on it. The names of the folders probably will begin with the first initial of the professor. For example, the folder belonging to Allan Wallace will be named awallace.
  • The next window that opens will show the folders and files that the professor has made available.
  • Browse the professor's files and folders until locating the one, or ones, you need. Double click on a file to open it.

Instructions (off Campus & in dormitories)

. To download or view these files while logged into a computer on campus,

  • Connect to the Internet and open Internet Explorer.
  • Tell Internet Explorer to go to the Mesa State College Home Page, www.mesastate.edu.
  • Click the student login button.
  • Click the link.
  • If a Security Alert Window pops up, click the yes button button and continue. A window labeled"Enter Network Password" appears.
  • In the Enter Network Password Window, use your network user name and password to log in. The is the user name and password the is used in the computer labs on campus. The new window that appears has a link for each professor who uses the H Drive.
  • Locate the link for you professor and click on it. You will then see the files that your professor has made available.
  • Browse the professor's files and folders until locating the one, or ones, you need. Double click on a file to open it.
