What is the K Drive and L Drive?
K Drive and the L Drive is space on the Mesa State College
servers for students and professors to share files. Here professors
can save blank assignments, and students can submit completed
assignments, projects, and papers.
Instructions (off campus
and in the dormitories)
- Connect to the Internet.
- Open Internet Explorer (or your browser of choice).
- Go to www.mesastate.edu.
- Point to
.
- Click "Student Login" in the drop down menu.
- Click the
link.
- Log in using your network (Novell) user name and password.
- In the "Security Alert" window, click the "yes"
button.
- You should then see a screen with a left pane and a right
pane. If so, you have loaded the NetStorage window and
are ready to upload and download files.
Posting (Uploading) to the K or L Drive
Uploading means that a file is being transferred from your
computer to a server. Here are the steps,
- With the NetStorage window open (see "Instructions"
above), locate a folder that looks like this,

It is in the left hand pane. Click on it once. (The folder
will say "Drive L" for the L Drive.)
- Click File / Upload in the NetStorage window as
shown below.
- In the window that appears, click the
button and locate the file you wish to transfer from your
computer to the K Drive.
- Click on the
button.
The file will be uploaded. The amount of time required depends
on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of
the file. At this point, you have handed in the project.
