January Term

Jump Start your spring semester with a course in the January Term! January Term runs from January 2nd - 19th, 2007 and offers over 30 courses delivered in an intensive three-week term. The January Term courses have been specifically designed for this intensive time frame, allowing you to concentrate all your energies on one course. No distractions. Lots of time to delve into an area of interest. Immerse yourself in the subject at hand. You can squeeze another course into your spring semester total course load without adding additional stress or burden.

How do I register for classes?
Registration can be done through Maverick Online, the Registar's Office, Montrose Office, or Western Colorado Community College Student Services. Click here for Maverick Online Registration Instructions.

Add/Drop/Withdraw Deadlines for the January Term
Add/Drop Deadline: 1st day of class
Course Withdrawal Deadline: 2nd day of class - Grade of "W"
Starting the 3rd day of class withdrawing from a class will result in a grade of "F" with no refund.

Refund Rates
Prior to the first day of class - 100% Refund
First day of class - 100% refund of tuition & fees for January Term (less 5% admin. Fee)
Second day of class - No refund of tuition & fees for January Term

Key Points
- Financial aid will apply toward January Term courses for those with Spring financial aid awards.
- Because these courses are offerred as part of Mesa State College Extended Studies, they are billed in addition to regular tuition and fees, if a student is enrolled in 13 or more hours.
- Register early. Courses with low enrollment will be cancelleed by December 14, 2006. Cancellation notices will be mailed.
- January Term housing is open to all current housing residents and new housing residents (i.e. moving on campus for spring semester.) We do not have housing for J-term only students. Contact the Housing Office for more information.
