Industrial Development, Inc., local economic promotion group, begins lobbying to have Mesa become a 4-year college

The 26th Amendment lowers the voting age from 21 to 18 in the United States.

The Supreme Court upholds a measure to bus children to enforce integration in schools.

College organized into six schools -- deans appointed
