The Star Spangle Banner becomes the American National Anthem by order of Congress.

Dean HoustonDr. Clifford G. Houston named Dean.

Enrollment exceeds 200 for the first time.

College symphony orchestra established -- except for two years during WWII, served as community civic symphony until 1978 when the Grand Junction Symphony was organized.
