Dr. Lars Hydle

Dr. Lars L. Hydle
named first dean

First classes at Mesa First classes in fall at County Courthouse, YMCA, and school administrative offices; 36 students registered

The Soiree formal ball 
Annual formal ball, The Soiree, is held for the first time. The ball is staged every year until 1970
  Old Lowell School (later City Hall) becomes home of Grand Junction Junior College

Enrollment reaches 98.

Charles Lindberg flies nonstop across the Atlantic.

Movietone offers newsreels with sound.

Shirley Temple is born on April 28th.

The world's first television program was broadcast into three homes in Schenectady, New York.
