Program Overview
The goal of the Honors Program at Mesa State College is to offer promising and highly motivated students opportunities for increased intellectual stimulation and enhance personal scholarships as they fulfill requirements for a bachelor or associate degree. We are looking for students who care about exercising their capabilities and gaining new ones. The Honors Program is affiliated with the National Collegiate Honors Council.

Benefits and Recognition of the Program
  • The “Honors” course designation on a student’s transcript signifies that the course is among the College’s more demanding courses.

  • Courses provide especially rewarding class experience.

  • Students who complete designated hours in Honors courses are recognized at graduation and on their transcripts for achieving Academic Honors.

  • Students who produce an Honors Thesis are cited at graduation and on their transcript for this accomplishment.

  • Small classes and extracurricular activities allow students in the Honor’s Program easy access to advice and mentoring from faculty members and friendships with other students.

  • Students enrolled in the program receive priority registration for classes in order to facilitate fitting Honors courses into their schedules.
