Math can be hard...really hard, but there is hope. Mesa State
College offers several options to provide the tools that are needed to
allow anyone to succeed in any math class.
Math is not a spectator's sport; math requires a vast amount
of participation. In order to succeed in any math class, the following
must be achieved. Go to class everyday and be prepared. While in class
take lots of notes and ask lots of questions. Chances are if you are
confused, everyone else is as well. Make sure you do your homework, and
do all of it. The problems assigned are meant to aid you in the
development of your understanding in this topic. So use them for what
they were meant for. And last but not least, visit your professor
during office hours. All professors at Mesa State are more than happy
to answer questions for you, and getting things cleared up early on,
can be the deciding factor on your survival in the math class. Do not
be intimidated by your professor. They are here to help!
However, if you are doing all these things and still not
achieving the level of success you are looking for, Mesa State College
offers a great drop-in tutoring program.
Tutors have been where you are and succeeded, and because of
this they can be used as a tool to get you where you need to go. Tutors
are free at Mesa State College through Academic Services as a benefit
of your student fees. Tutorial Services is located in Houston 110
and 120. For more information, use
