MOUNTAIN PLAINS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION

46th Annual Fall Conference

October 14 – 16, 2004

Mesa State College

Grand Junction, Colorado

THEME:  PEDAGOGY FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM

Providing education for business students continues to be a challenging endeavor, and we constantly work to change our instructional materials and methods of presenting those materials.  New research leads us to also add additional activities to our instruction so as to help students develop the broad range of skills needed in the work place.  This conference will specifically include your research addressing successful approaches to teaching in this complex environment.  Other topics pertinent to our discipline are also welcome.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The Mountain Plains Management Conference is an annual gathering of scholars and others interested in sharing research and discussing relevant and contemporary issues in all areas of business, including Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, and other areas.  The conference has a long tradition, dating back many decades.  The gathering is informal, and presentations include everything from publishable articles to formal papers to discussion-oriented abstracts.  A high degree of collegiality exists, and many long-term friendships result from the interactions of conference participants.  The Annual conference is hosted by a different institution each year, while the Mountain Plains Journal of Business and Economics is housed at Southern Utah University.

SETTING

The conference will be held on the Mesa State College campus in beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado.  Grand Junction is approximately 250 miles from Salt Lake City or Denver and has air shuttle service from either city and from Phoenix.
